Glitter, 61, whose real name is Paul Francis Gadd, was charged Friday at a jail outside the resort city of Vung Tau where he has been held since Nov. 19 on suspicion of child sex abuse. He was seized at Ho Chi Minh City airport while trying to board a flight to Bangkok.

A star is born ... then the trouble starts. Our nominees for celebs' worst moms and dads
Seeing their kids dabble in drugs, sex and rock 'n' roll is enough to freak most parents out — except in Hollywood. When Lindsay Lohan admitted in the new issue of Vanity Fair that she'd used drugs "a little" and was throwing up her lunch, her mom/manager Dina, 43, blew it off. "It wasn't as bad as it looked," she said in the magazine, referring to an episode of "Saturday Night Live" Lohan hosted that emphasized her withering physique. http://www.nydailynews.com/news/gossip/story/380525p-322962c.html

Star Jones is fed up with those gay whispers about her husband, Al Reynolds. In her new book, "Shine," the "View" hostess portrays the 35-year-old banker as nothing short of a superstud. "The first time he held me in his arms sexually, it was almost frightening because we knew our erotic interest in each other could take over every other thing," Star writes breathlessly. "We had an intoxicatingly sexual connection the first two months of our relationship." http://www.nydailynews.com/front/story/380551p-322985c.html

New Jersey tourism officials want a rockin' new Bon Jovi track to lure young people to the Garden State. But it's going to cost them. Jon Bon Jovi and Richie Sambora have said the state is welcome to use their latest hit, "Who Says You Can't Go Home," in a new commercial — gratis. But the song's publisher wants $175,000 for the rights, according to budget documents. "That's not a lot of money," a source close to the band tells us. "Coke pays millions to use a song in a commercial. People should get paid for what they write. Jon and Richie are good Jersey boys. They've done so much charitable work for the state." Gannett's Home News Tribune reports that the commercial could run $250,000 — roughly what the state spent for a slogan that was later rejected. The state Commerce, Economic Growth and Tourism Commission is trying to get the commercial's cost added to its $19.6 million budget. "There's no deal yet," says a source.

Lou Reed's second book of photographs, "Lou Reed's New York," comes out next week. If you can't wait, check out the rocker's dreamy urbanscapes tomorrow night in the exhibit "Walk on the Wild Side" curated by Baird Jones at Webster Hall.

Always on the lookout for the big payoff - or, failing that, a chance for crass self-promotion - execs at the online casino BetUS.com yesterday offered Lindsay Lohan "an attractive Costa Rican rehabilitation package." But the odds are slim that the skinny teen queen - who was released yesterday from a Miami-area hospital after treatment for asthma, and in the latest Vanity Fair cops to drug use and bulimia - will be accepting anytime soon. "It's very tacky to take advantage of this situation," scolded Leslie Sloane Zelnik, the 19-year-old Lohan's long-suffering flack. "It's a way to capitalize, and she doesn't need their help. She has the support of friends and family. We don't need this. Gimme a break." http://www.nydailynews.com/front/story/380598p-323013c.html

The marriage may be over, but Nick Lachey still clings to memories of life with his soon-to-be ex-wife, Jessica Simpson. "Sometimes I did walk in her shoes. It was sort of a kinky thing we liked to get into," Lachey reveals to Elle magazine about their bedroom adventures. But the 98 Degrees singer and failed solo artist adds: "I haven't even realized my full dirty-talk potential. I think there's some greater moments out there for me." Certainly he doesn't mean a divorce trial!

BELIEVE it or not, the Lizzie Grubman Hamptons crash case still isn't over. Grubman was in Manhattan State Supreme Court yesterday, where she played 26 questions with a lawyer for one of the victims of her infamous run-over of 16 people. Grubman was in the robing room of Judge Milton Tingling where she was deposed - again - about the July 2001 incident that left all 16 victims injured. "It went very well," Grubman's lawyer, John McDonough, told The Post's Dareh Gregorian. "She answered all the questions fully." http://www.nypost.com/gossip/pagesix/pagesix_u.htm

ERSATZ punk rocker Avril Lavigne has morphed into a genuine hottie - at least in next month's Harper's Bazaar. The fashion glossy transformed the sour-faced, tie-and-camouflage queen into a modern-day lady (think Sienna Miller) with a little help from Chanel and Gucci. "I'm starting to feel more feminine. I'm getting into hair and makeup and image," the excited 20-year-old singer tells the mag, which calls her temporary new look "Twiggy for the 2000s." Sadly, guys, she's taken: Her 25-year-old fiancé, Deryck Whibley, of bubble-gum punksters Sum 41, recently gifted her a 5-carat rock.

THERE is a reason why Perez Hilton can claim he runs "Hollywood's Most-Hated Web site" - he doesn't even apologize when he gets things wrong. The blogger recently posted bikini photos of a young woman he identified as Sara Moonves, the 21-year-old daughter of CBS chief Les Moonves. Perez also claimed Sara, a junior at NYU, listed herself on Myspace and Friendster looking for fun. All untrue. A CBS spokesman said, "The only thing he got right is her age." Perez told PAGE SIX: "One of my readers sent in pictures and said they were her. It looked like her to me." We're just sorry we ever believed anything on his scurrilous site.

© Paula Abdul thinks that the upcoming fifth season of "American Idol" may be the strongest season yet, "so it's kind of exciting for us," she told People magazine. "It's the first season we've had strong males and strong females together." She wants to warn female viewers, though, that they should watch at their own risk, since two of the contestants will make them swoon once they sing. "The one girls are gonna fall in love with is Ace," she said. "Man, oh, man, girls are going to fall in love with him. And a guy named Patrick, too. They both have great voices." "American Idol" premieres January 17 at 8 p.m. on FOX.

© Scott Stapp and girlfriend Jaclyn Nesheiwat have set a date for their impending nuptials — the couple plan to wed February 10 in Florida, according to the singer's rep. Nesheiwat is the director of public affairs for Stapp's charitable foundation that supports children; they met at a Muscular Dystrophy Association gala in New York last January.

Matchups include Diddy's Mount Vernon Razorbacks against the Snoop Dogg All-Stars, and Nelly's St. Louis All-Stars against Trick Daddy's Miami Overtown Rattlers.

© Santana is the first act confirmed to play the second Rock In Rio -- Lisbon festival, set for May 26-27 and June 2-4 at Bela Vista Park. The massive event was staged in Brazil in 1985, 1991 and 2001 and moved last year to Lisbon, where organizers say it drew approximately 100,000 music fans each day.
